When telling our story, like all stories, it’s tough to know where to start.

We’re a husband and wife, Evan is from Oak Park, Lauren is from Connecticut. In 2013 we met unexpectedly at a cafe in Washington DC. He was the barista. She taught yoga across the street. Life played out.

Thousands of coffees, two kids, two cross country moves, and our fair share of stories later… here we are, opening a cafe of our own.

We may be biased, but we believe that great coffee, served with intention, can bring people together. This is why we’re passionate about creating such a place in the very community we live in.

We believe that whether it's connecting with yourself or someone else, the place matters.

Wild Card is inspired by the places we’ve loved, the lives we’ve lived and fueled by our desire to tap into something bigger than ourselves.
